To celebrate Ellsworth's rich apple history, Heart of Ellsworth is highlighting the revival of two traditional foods - hard cider, and artisanal cheese. The evening will begin with a short history of heirloom apples in Downeast Maine by local Historian, Todd Little-Siebold. With the generous support of this years sponsors Bangor Savings Bank, John Edwards, Rooster Brother, and Fogtown Brewing Company the focus of the festival will be a guided tasting of cider and cheese lead by Max Treitler, owner of Blue Hill Wine Shop. Each of the six local hard cider makers and five artisan cheesemakers from around the state will be on hand to talk about their craft, share sips of hard cider and bites of artisanal cheese. Tickets will be available on the Heart of Ellsworth website, Eventbrite and Facebook.
