May Birding on Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor!

Schoodic’s Frazer Point in May means migrating birds: sparrows, thrushes, warblers, raptors, shorebirds, and flycatchers. The area features a patchwork of habitats including marine waters, tidal flats, seaside alder thickets, tall spruce trees, blossoming apple trees and deciduous shrubs bordering mowed grassy strips. There is promise of an ever-changing parade of species to see and hear. Learn sight and sound identification tips, how to document your sightings using eBird, and the latest bird conservation news. Dress for the weather and be prepared for three hours of walking over easy terrain. Field trip leader is Seth Benz, Schoodic Institute’s Director of Bird Ecology.
